Definition of Pesticides

Pesticides
Pesticides are chemicals or mixtures of chemicals used for the prevention, elimination, or control of unwanted insects, plants, and animals. Pesticides are usually organic chemicals but may also be inorganic compounds. They can be produced in the laboratory or they may be produced naturally by plants.

Types of Pesticides
Insecticides - kills or controls insects.
Herbicides - kills or controls plants.
Fungicides - kills or controls fungi.
Molluscicides - kills or controls molluscs.
Nematicides - kills or controls nematodes (worms).
Rodenticides - kills or controls rodents.
