  • 1954, 1958 - Amendments to Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act
    • Established tolerances
    • Delaney Clause - "No additive shall be deemed safe if it is found to induce cancer when it is ingested by man or animal or, if it is found, after tests which are appropriate for evaluation of the safety of food additives, to induce cancer in man or animals."
  • 1947 - Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)
    • Labelling statute under USDA
  • 1959, 1961 - FIFRA Amendments
