Non-ionizing Radiation

Non-ionizing radiation is electromagnetic radiation which, unlike ionizing radiation, does not have enough energy to remove an electron from an atom and thus cannot produce ion pairs.

Examples of non-ionizing radiation include visible light, ultraviolet (UV) light, radar, lasers, microwaves, radio waves, and electromagnetic fields around electric power lines and appliances.
